Read Bobbi's post and she is a dear friend to remember you and the others, it was so touching. I know the heartache of losing a companion like Jazz, thinking of you today. Hugs, Sue
I am Bambi's Mom. My heart hurts for us!! This is a time of lost for us all!! Why can't our dogs live as long as we live??????? We need them!! My Bambi was 13 years and 8 months and 3 days old. xx, Fern
Hi Jenni, How old was Jazzy?? What was her problem?? If you don't mind talking about her with me? Bambi had 4 people post on their blog about her death. It is so sweet that people care. We dog people are kindred spirits!! xx, Fern
Hi Fern! No, I don't mind talking about my Jazz. He was a stray puppy we rescued in the heat of a Texas Summer eleven years ago.
He was always a bit delicate, with inflammatory bowel disease... he was on an all prescription duck and potato food diet, if he ever ate a piece of human food, he would have bloody diahrea and nearly die..... The Vet put him on steroids to control the inflammation and he did fairly well for many years..... he had a few episodes where we nearly lost him, after he picked up a "snack" or something while out for a walk.... We didn't know a large tumor was growing in his liver, though; and a little over two weeks ago, one night he wouldn't lie down or sit, he clung to me a lot, and paced, and if we gently touched his tummy, he cried in pain.... the next morning, we took him to the vet, the vet sent us to a specialist in Houston, and she found the tumor and the internal bleeding....
We couldn't bear for him to hurt, so we had him put down that evening. He was my angel, my companion, my friend, and my baby boy...... I will always love him.... I am sorry again about your Bambi. and you are right, it is so great that people care.... I think people that love animals are pretty special... Thanks for stopping by again. Jenni
O my GOODNESS, what a precious sweet thing to do for you! I'll have to post this song on my playlist (just for keeps). This post makes me want to get out in the backyard, resist the heat, and throw a dirty frizbee to my sweet Royale. Thanks for sharing the post. It reminded me yet again how nothing is forever...even our pets. Love you~
There are six things that I am absolutely passionate about. I love my God, my church, my family and friends, the beloved memory of my black Labrador Retriever "Jazz",(Whom we lost on May 18, 2011) and my music. I am also pretty crazy about animals in general, and LOVE reading(and writing)romantic historical fiction with a strong Christian message;as well as non - fiction, and details abut how God is working in my life. I LOVE sweet tea and gumbo, and absolutely must have my Tex-Mex fix often!

ReplyDeleteHey, Md! And just enjoy that sweet Royale and have fun with her while you can....
ReplyDeleteShe is a doll - baby! I'd love to give her a kiss right on top of her head like I used to kiss Jazz's head....
Smiles,
Jenni
